Maybelline Colour Tattoo!

Hi guys!

So the Colour tattoo's have been talked about by everyone when they first came out! The blogger community instantly fell in love with them, (well the majority). It is easy to see why! They are also a decent price point the are £4.99 but will last a long time because i little goes along way. However, you can always get these when there is a 3 for 2 in Boots or Superdrug meaning you can sometimes get one free.

Permanent Taupe, Metallic Pomegranate, On and On Bronze & Pink Gold

I own four from the range and i am always looking for another one to add to my collection. They are beautiful, creamy and highly pigmented. The on and on bronze (bad to the bronze in the US) is the one i find is most talked about, this is the one for people who are in to the neutral colours. It is the one I have used the most, but my favourite it the Pomegranate colour which is just so beautiful. My least favourite is Permanent Taupe, which happens to be the only one i own without glitter, however it is a good base under a smokey eye but i do not like to wear that colour on it's own.

Swatches same order as above.

Overall, i love these on there own, for a simple everyday look. They are easy to just throw on and blend so well, you can use them with a brush but i tend to just apply and blend them with my finger.

If you live in England, you will be aware of the warm weather which has come our way! Finally I can wear kimonos and jelly shoes!

But with the change in weather comes a change in everyones everyday make-up. The biggest change for me is no longer wearing dark bold lines but instead switching it out for nudes.

So here is today spring face to celebrate the warmer weather!

Small Haul from Hema

Hiya,

So when I was over in Amsterdam at the beginning of April i stumbled upon a make-up shop dedicated to just one brand, which is very rare so see in England. The brand was Hema which is a dutch make-up brand with drugstore prices. I could have been in there all day but i went with a very reluctant boyfriend who is always fed up that i am always looking at make-up.

So I did end up buying a few things means they were so reasonably priced. The first thing i brought were three of there make-up brushes. These were all from there white handled collection which i think is there better quality one, they were also more expensive.

The top brush is there contour brush, which cost 4 euros and is so so soft and I love it.
The middle brush is there duo ended eyeshadow brush, with one side for packing on colour and one to smudge things out. The bottom brush is the duo ended smokey eyeshadow brush, there is a small pencil side and then and angled side, both cost 3 euros 50. They were all a bargain and all work wonders.

Then i only brought two make-up items i could have brought more and i really regret not doing that.

Make-up wise i brought a clear brow jel, which i think cost about 3 euros but i am not sure. It is quite nice, and does the job of keeping my eyebrows in place. Then i brought a lipliner because i am really getting into them lately. I think the lip liner is in the colour 21, and on the lips it looks a bright pink/coral colour. Don't worry i will feature it in a face of the day on my blog soon.

Overall i am happy with what i got, my biggest regret is just not buying more means that it was all such a good price.

Review: Beauty UK Ultimate contour palette

Hi guys.

Today i am going to be reviewing the Beauty UK contour palette. I first saw this mentioned by Mikhila over on her MissBudgetBeauty channel. As soon as she mentioned it i knew it was something i wanted to try. So a few days later i went to super drug and picked this up. It was the last one in store so i made sure i snapped it up. I think that it is a really good price, costing only £4.99, but in there you get a contour a bronzer and a highlight shade.

The palette is made up of all cream products meaning that they are easily bendable. My biggest criticism for this is the colour range. They only have one palette which i presume they are marketing this as a universal product to suit everyone. However, i swatched the bronzer which is way to orange on my skin tone, and the highlighter just blends into my skin and is pretty much the same colour because i am so pale.

The one thing that keeps me loving this palette is the contour shade. I love it and think it gives a beautiful cream finish. The product blends so well meaning there are no harsh lines. Personally i would pay the full price for just the contour shade on it's own. I have been using the contour shade everyday that i use my make-up and think that it is becoming a staple in my make-up routine. Also the product is going to last a long time, as a little goes a long way.

The one thing that i think makes this cream kit stand out from both high end and drugstore cream contour kits it that it gives you a guide on the back if you are a complete beginner to contouring your face.

Overall, my thoughts on this product are that I love the contour shade however i could live without the other two shades and by the contour as it's own colour/product. Saying that i would still recommend this product to people because is it still good value from a cream contour shade.

Night time skincare routine.

Hello :)

So being a university student my skincare has become more important to me than ever, drinking more and not always eating the best means that my skin needs a bit of extra help keeping in good condition. My skincare routine takes about five to 10 minutes before bed but can be a saviour to the skin. I know i am not perfect and don't do it every night e.g. 4am when you come home drunk from a night out, however i do it most nights to help my skin.

Step One)
I take my Bioderma on some cotton wool pads and remove any make-up I have had on my face that day. I prefer this to remove my make-up to wipes because I have sensitive skin and find this doesn't feel so rough on my skin. This is a cult beauty product that receives a lot of hype, and whilst i do live it, i think there are some cheaper alternatives that are more readily available in the UK that do the same thing. e.g. the L'Oreal micelar water.

Step Two)
I then take my clean and clear morning energy face scrub and focus this on my T zone the places where i get most oily and also on the occasional breakout that might surface on my check. One i have scrubbed my skin i just rinse it off and towel dry my face. I know people may do this after cleansing but i just like to do this step first to get it out of the way with.

Step Three)
Next up is the Liz Earle cleanse and polish like the bioderma this is a cult skincare product around the beauty blogger and youtube community and to me this is really worth the hype. I have tried other cream cleansers such as the simple one but had such a bad reaction that i don't mind spending a little more on this one. I take 2 pumps (recommended one) and rub this in all over my face and take my ring finger and gently rub it on my eyes and massage my lash line to remove and last bit of make-up.

Step four)
Following the cleanse it is time to tone, currently i am using that last of my Caudalie beauty elixir which i think is a lovely product, however i love the lush tea tree toner just at much, but that is at home whilst i am here at university. I spray this on the a cotton pad and then while down my T zone to help clean out those pores.

Step five)
It's time to moisturise. My everyday moisturiser is the Embrayollise Lait Creme Concentrate. This is a very pricey product in my opinion and i do find it hard to part with my money over the till. However i love this product, a little goes a long way meaning that this tub can last you a while. I also think the metal like tube it comes in makes it seems more cooling on the skin which i love. I just use a pea size amount and massage this into my face.

However, 2 days of the week i switch it up and use a moisturising face mask in the winter to really help heal my dry skin. The one I have been using recently is the Superdrug Vitamin E moisture mask. I use a double pea sized amount and massage this in all over my face and allow for it to soak in. After 10 minutes i then tissue off the remainder of what is on my face.

Last Step)
My last step is to look after my poor lips. I have dry lips all day everyday, and the winter weather makes them even worse if that is possible. My holy grail lip balm is the blister lip conditioner. Unlike other lip balms i feel like this one really tackles the problem rather than just creating a smooth protective layer on top of the lips, leaving your lips softer and moisturised for longer.

So there you have it my winter skincare routine.

A Blush Revolution?

Hi guys :)

So you may have heard of the brand Makeup Revolution. They are a brand stocked by Superdrug here in the UK, with a price point very similar to MUA. I know that you can buy their products online too.

I have heard a lot of rave about the eyeshadow palettes in the beauty blogger sphere, and how they are a dupe for Urban Decay. However, I do not see a lot of their blush palettes, which is what I was most interested about. I managed to get my hands on sugar and spice palette, and i have to say i am really impressed with it.

The sugar and spice palette

You don't find many blush pallets in the drug store so i loved that there was on the market for such a little price. They retail for £6. For your money you get 6 large blushes, as well as 2 highlights. All of which are highly pigmented.

The sugar and spice palette is full of pink toned blushes, with 2 more brown blushes with pink undertones.
There is also the Hot space palette are more and orange and coral toned blushes.
The have also recently released the Golden sugar palette which has 4 bronzers, 2 blushes and 2 highlighters.

The sugar and spice pallette

If you are looking for some new blushers in your life but don't want to break the bank then i would say this is the one for you.

What do i take for an overnight stay?

Hello everybody :)

So my first video on my channel was a whats in my travel make-up bag. This included all the things that I took home from university in order to be able to my make-up, and because I was gone for several days I took quite a bit home. However linking in with that I wanted to show you what I take when I am just going to stay somewhere for one night. For example when I stay at my boyfriends house.

What I am about to show you it also what I wear as my go to make-up at the minute so if you would like to see my go to make-up please let me know!

So without further ado this is what I take with me:

Foundation: MAC Face and Body (C1)

This gives a nice build-able coverage, you can also sheer it our with moisturiser if it is too thick for your liking.

Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection (Fair 1)

This is the tried and tested concealer of the beauty world, it is simple to apply and really bendable, with good coverage.

Powder: L'Oreal Nude BB Magique (Light)

I love this powder for just taking away the sheen on the skin left by my foundation and to set all my cream products in place.

Bronzer: Benefit Hoola

This bronzer is great to contour, and also to add a bit of warmth to the face. It is also easily bendable on the skin.

Blush: Nars Orgasam

This blush again is something that is always hyped about in the beauty community. This blush is a lovely pink with gold shimmer in it giving your skin a nice flushed glow.
(This was the blush I happened to pick on the day, however my blush is the one thing i tend to change  from day to day)

Eyeliner: L'Oreal Super Liner Black Laquer

This is by far my favourite liquid liner and it super easy to apply for that simple everyday winged eyeliner.

Mascara: Covergirl Lastblast.

This is my favourite drug store mascara, and I am actually gutted you can not buy it in the UK so i am going to stock up when I go to America again. This mascara just gives my lashes tons of volume without making them too clumpy.

Lipstick: MAC Rebel (satin finish)

This is my favourite lipstick all year round, but i wear it constantly in the winter with this simple everyday look. Occasionally I might swap it out for a nude but most of the time I will be wearing this.

p.s I apologise for the not so great picture quality, I left my camera at home so had to take these on my phone. I promise I will have better picture quality soon.

The start of something new...

Hello everybody :)

I just wanted to start of my new blog with a little bit about me. My name is Jennifer, and I am currently a first year university student studying Media and Communication.

In my spare time I like to make YouTube videos, I have very recently started my new channel. I hope that I can make this one into something that I am very proud of. You can check my channel out here: https://www.youtube.com/user/rebelpurple3

My YouTube channel and blog's main focus are going to be on make-up and beauty, as that is what I have the biggest interest in. However I will also include fashion posts, as well as every day life posts, including my university experience.

I am aiming at uploading at least one video a week to my YouTube channel, and at least 2 blogs posts here. I have a bunch of idea's for blog posts and video which I am hoping will be coming your way very shortly.
