It's been a while...

Hello you lovely lot!

So the last post I wrote feels like forever ago, I mean it was over half a year. I told you all last time that I was having a break whilst i had exams and then i was coming back, but I feel like I have not stopped since then.

I worked so many hours over the summer break to give me spending money for when I was on holiday and just give me money for three months. I went on holiday and then before I knew it I was back at uni for my second year.

Well I am coming back now, I can not believe to tell you how much I have missed blogging. I have a fair few idea's of new posts and content to share with you all, I hope you will all stick around.

Quick Uni Break!

Hi guys,
So I feel like just as I was really starting to get into blogging and put up some posts I am really proud off I disappeared. But the thing is being a university student I can't dedicate all my time to my blog. I love blogging it allows me to be creative and talk about all things make-up which most people in my everyday life don't want to hear me ramble about.

But on the other hand I am paying a lot to get a degree so I need to revise for my exams, so since easter I have kind of non stop been revising or taking netflix breaks haha! I finish my exams on the 20th of May and then will be able to dedicate so much more time over the summer holidays to my blog, which i am so excited about.

I have a ton of post ideas which I want to get up, and I have three months to ramble away and do so. My goal is upload at least one post a week but i would love to post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but I am not making any promises.

I will speak to you soon,

Maybelline Colour Tattoo!

Hi guys!

So the Colour tattoo's have been talked about by everyone when they first came out! The blogger community instantly fell in love with them, (well the majority). It is easy to see why! They are also a decent price point the are £4.99 but will last a long time because i little goes along way. However, you can always get these when there is a 3 for 2 in Boots or Superdrug meaning you can sometimes get one free.

Permanent Taupe, Metallic Pomegranate, On and On Bronze & Pink Gold

I own four from the range and i am always looking for another one to add to my collection. They are beautiful, creamy and highly pigmented. The on and on bronze (bad to the bronze in the US) is the one i find is most talked about, this is the one for people who are in to the neutral colours. It is the one I have used the most, but my favourite it the Pomegranate colour which is just so beautiful. My least favourite is Permanent Taupe, which happens to be the only one i own without glitter, however it is a good base under a smokey eye but i do not like to wear that colour on it's own.

Swatches same order as above.

Overall, i love these on there own, for a simple everyday look. They are easy to just throw on and blend so well, you can use them with a brush but i tend to just apply and blend them with my finger.

If you live in England, you will be aware of the warm weather which has come our way! Finally I can wear kimonos and jelly shoes!

So here is today spring face to celebrate the warmer weather!

Small Haul from Hema

Hiya,

So when I was over in Amsterdam at the beginning of April i stumbled upon a make-up shop dedicated to just one brand, which is very rare so see in England. The brand was Hema which is a dutch make-up brand with drugstore prices. I could have been in there all day but i went with a very reluctant boyfriend who is always fed up that i am always looking at make-up.

So I did end up buying a few things means they were so reasonably priced. The first thing i brought were three of there make-up brushes. These were all from there white handled collection which i think is there better quality one, they were also more expensive.

The top brush is there contour brush, which cost 4 euros and is so so soft and I love it.
The middle brush is there duo ended eyeshadow brush, with one side for packing on colour and one to smudge things out. The bottom brush is the duo ended smokey eyeshadow brush, there is a small pencil side and then and angled side, both cost 3 euros 50. They were all a bargain and all work wonders.

Then i only brought two make-up items i could have brought more and i really regret not doing that.

Make-up wise i brought a clear brow jel, which i think cost about 3 euros but i am not sure. It is quite nice, and does the job of keeping my eyebrows in place. Then i brought a lipliner because i am really getting into them lately. I think the lip liner is in the colour 21, and on the lips it looks a bright pink/coral colour. Don't worry i will feature it in a face of the day on my blog soon.

Overall i am happy with what i got, my biggest regret is just not buying more means that it was all such a good price.

Makeup revolution concealer palette review

Hiya,

So if you saw my last post you will see that I have been using this palette to do my highlighting. This palette is available at super drug and on the Makeup Revolution website, and it retails for just £6!  This is the only think i really use it for if i am honest. When it comes to concealing i think this palette, and there other concealer products are all pretty rubbish for using it as their designated use.

However, all hope is not lost, i love using this palette to highlight, the first shade is super light even on my pale skin and is perfect for adding some light and dimension to your face. They blend so well and don't leave you looking like you have 10 layers of product on your face, i love blending out the product with my beauty blender.

Overall i wouldn't buy this to conceal under your eyes when there are better things on the market at the same or lower price. (e.g. everyones holy grail collection lasting perfection). Maybe if you don't need such a heavy coverage then this would be the product for you. However if you are looking for a palette where you can mix a few shades for your perfect highlight shade then i would fully recommend. For my this isn't something i feel i must repurchase this straight away if i run out because i am paying all that money for just one of the products in it.

Highlighting and Contouring Routine

Hiya,

Lately overtime i see a highlight and contour routine on both videos and blogposts i seem to see people only using high end products like the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette. I am yet to find someone else using a drugstore product that can be found easily in the UK.

I have found two products which i have been loving at the moment. The first one being the beauty UK contour palette (review here). In this I only use the contour shade. The other product I use is the Make-up Revolution concealer palette in light, I use the latest shade for my highlight and will have a full review for you next.

Once i have placed the products in the area's that i desire so the hollows of my cheeks, my nose, my forehead and cheek bones i then take a damp beauty blender and blend everything in.

Before (excuse the towel was getting ready for a night out :')  )

After (flash wasn't so bright but it's all blended promise)

Cutting off my Hair!

Hi guys :)

So yesterday, I did something I thought I wouldn't do for a long time. I cut my hair , pretty short.
I kept seeing people with long bobs and I just couldn't resit!
I am so in love with my hair and have been wearing it curly for the past 2 days.

It seems so strange that my hairs stops just as i get to my shoulders when i am brushing it and straightening it but i know i will get used to it.
my new hair :)

Review: Beauty UK Ultimate contour palette

Hi guys.

Today i am going to be reviewing the Beauty UK contour palette. I first saw this mentioned by Mikhila over on her MissBudgetBeauty channel. As soon as she mentioned it i knew it was something i wanted to try. So a few days later i went to super drug and picked this up. It was the last one in store so i made sure i snapped it up. I think that it is a really good price, costing only £4.99, but in there you get a contour a bronzer and a highlight shade.

The palette is made up of all cream products meaning that they are easily bendable. My biggest criticism for this is the colour range. They only have one palette which i presume they are marketing this as a universal product to suit everyone. However, i swatched the bronzer which is way to orange on my skin tone, and the highlighter just blends into my skin and is pretty much the same colour because i am so pale.

The one thing that keeps me loving this palette is the contour shade. I love it and think it gives a beautiful cream finish. The product blends so well meaning there are no harsh lines. Personally i would pay the full price for just the contour shade on it's own. I have been using the contour shade everyday that i use my make-up and think that it is becoming a staple in my make-up routine. Also the product is going to last a long time, as a little goes a long way.

The one thing that i think makes this cream kit stand out from both high end and drugstore cream contour kits it that it gives you a guide on the back if you are a complete beginner to contouring your face.

Overall, my thoughts on this product are that I love the contour shade however i could live without the other two shades and by the contour as it's own colour/product. Saying that i would still recommend this product to people because is it still good value from a cream contour shade.

Night time skincare routine.

Hello :)

So being a university student my skincare has become more important to me than ever, drinking more and not always eating the best means that my skin needs a bit of extra help keeping in good condition. My skincare routine takes about five to 10 minutes before bed but can be a saviour to the skin. I know i am not perfect and don't do it every night e.g. 4am when you come home drunk from a night out, however i do it most nights to help my skin.

Step One)
I take my Bioderma on some cotton wool pads and remove any make-up I have had on my face that day. I prefer this to remove my make-up to wipes because I have sensitive skin and find this doesn't feel so rough on my skin. This is a cult beauty product that receives a lot of hype, and whilst i do live it, i think there are some cheaper alternatives that are more readily available in the UK that do the same thing. e.g. the L'Oreal micelar water.

Step Two)
I then take my clean and clear morning energy face scrub and focus this on my T zone the places where i get most oily and also on the occasional breakout that might surface on my check. One i have scrubbed my skin i just rinse it off and towel dry my face. I know people may do this after cleansing but i just like to do this step first to get it out of the way with.

Step Three)
Next up is the Liz Earle cleanse and polish like the bioderma this is a cult skincare product around the beauty blogger and youtube community and to me this is really worth the hype. I have tried other cream cleansers such as the simple one but had such a bad reaction that i don't mind spending a little more on this one. I take 2 pumps (recommended one) and rub this in all over my face and take my ring finger and gently rub it on my eyes and massage my lash line to remove and last bit of make-up.

Step four)
Following the cleanse it is time to tone, currently i am using that last of my Caudalie beauty elixir which i think is a lovely product, however i love the lush tea tree toner just at much, but that is at home whilst i am here at university. I spray this on the a cotton pad and then while down my T zone to help clean out those pores.

Step five)
It's time to moisturise. My everyday moisturiser is the Embrayollise Lait Creme Concentrate. This is a very pricey product in my opinion and i do find it hard to part with my money over the till. However i love this product, a little goes a long way meaning that this tub can last you a while. I also think the metal like tube it comes in makes it seems more cooling on the skin which i love. I just use a pea size amount and massage this into my face.

However, 2 days of the week i switch it up and use a moisturising face mask in the winter to really help heal my dry skin. The one I have been using recently is the Superdrug Vitamin E moisture mask. I use a double pea sized amount and massage this in all over my face and allow for it to soak in. After 10 minutes i then tissue off the remainder of what is on my face.

Last Step)
My last step is to look after my poor lips. I have dry lips all day everyday, and the winter weather makes them even worse if that is possible. My holy grail lip balm is the blister lip conditioner. Unlike other lip balms i feel like this one really tackles the problem rather than just creating a smooth protective layer on top of the lips, leaving your lips softer and moisturised for longer.

So there you have it my winter skincare routine.

Review: MUA Brow Define

Hiya :)

So as i was perusing in super drug about a week ago I came across this on the MUA stand, it's nice to see the more affordable brands branching out into the eyebrow department. I am not one to spend much on my every brows as they are think and don't need much filling in. However I am always willing to try drugstore products.

The MUA Brow define is a tinted gel, so the same sort of product as the Benefit Gimme Brow (which I have no tried so am unable to compare). However there is a massive difference in price the MUA one retails for just £2 making that a £15 price gap. I got mine in the colour Dark Brown the darkest shade, however this is nearly Black, but having dark brown and purple hair i can get away with out it. I don't know if al the colour come out darker than described.

The wand appears to be larger than the benefit one (again i have not tried this is merely and observation). The wand is just smaller than that of a travel mascara meaning that it can be a bit messy and hard to get a precise application.

The product leave your eyebrows soft and not solid like a brow mascara might so this is not a setting product the colour can also move when dry however this is when they are pressure is applied, a slight knock would't move the product.

Overall I enjoy using this product and will continue to use it on days where I wish to have a slightly darker brow. I would purchase again however next time i might try the lighter shade.

OOTD: Basic Everyday Outfit for University.

Hi Everyone, Long time no speak I know.

So today i really liked my outfit for university so i decided i was going to share it with you. It's really comfortable and perfect for sitting round in a class room. You will have to excuse the images, i left my camera and tripod at home so they are taken on my phone and some of them are at awkward angles.

So outfit was all based on this purple shirt by Levi, which was a bargain price of £3 from the vintage shop Harley and Lewis, which is always having sales and sells authentic vintage clothing. I couldn't wait to wear it a soon as i got so today was the day. Underneath i am wearing a vest top which i found in the Fishermans's Wharf area of San Fransisco which has the bear of California on it in and Aztec print.

The main reason i love the shirt is the flower detailing on the collar and the top of the pockets which helps give it that feminine touch considering it is so over sized. This shirt is and extra large.

I parked the top half with black Topshop treggings perfect for sitting in a classroom for a few hours and paired it off with my favourite low top navy blue converse.

Excuse the awkward pose.

This is the finished look for my outfit, this has to be one of my favourite of basic everyday outfits to wear to university.
